Transformed Aging Dispatch Software Into Powerful Field Support Platform

Challenge
This audio video installation company built their own proprietary software to dispatch electricians and installation staff to different jobs. Their product was promising, but it wasn’t built using modern standards. What’s more, the owners wanted to resell the software to other verticals that were non-competitive. They hired Plan A to modernize the dispatch software and add multi-tenant functionality, along with a long list of new features to allow the system to be resold to multiple new verticals that could also use dispatch software (such as lawn and pool care teams, plumbing companies, utility companies, and more).

Solution
We re-architected and rebuilt the solution from scratch using .NET and React, with a set of mobile apps built using ReactNative. The new solution was able to support new verticals and has expanded quickly.

Results
- The new solution is far easier to use and boasts many more features, allowing staff in the field to take videos on their phones or tablets, present proposals to customers, collect payments, request additional help, and much more.
- A new analytics platform analyzes efficiency of employees in the field.
- The software automatically routes the closest person to the closest job, saving commuting time each day.
- Ownership has now been able to resell the solution to multiple other companies, generating more than 20x the amount of money that they spent with Plan A building the solution for themselves.
